A heated saltwater pool in a quiet lakeside neighborhood in Holmes Beach — the pool deck at A Wright Place has lush island landscaping and a reading nook tucked in for the afternoons when the beach has worn you out. The beach is 2.5 blocks away.

The poolside den is a flexible third sleeping space — futon, ground level, and connected to the pool area — that works for a sixth guest or as a quiet retreat when the main bedrooms are occupied. The main unit has a king bed in the primary bedroom and two twin beds in the second bedroom. Two full bathrooms. A washer and dryer is on-site.

The kitchen is fully equipped for meals at home. The living room has a flat-screen TV. High-speed WiFi included. A gas grill is at poolside for evening cookouts.

Please note: rates are higher during peak periods — March, July, and the holiday weeks of Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Bookings generally run Saturday to Saturday during busy months.

One small pet is welcome with a $150 non-refundable fee. Parking for two vehicles.

A Wright Place requires a one-week minimum stay.

*Final payments are due 60 days prior to arrival payable by personal check or Echeck (which will incur a $1.00 processing fee) we do take
credit cards for final payment with a 3% fee on the balance due

You are vacationing in a residential area, please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their private property. Quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Convenient location for a great price

"My husband and I came to stay for a week for our honeymoon and enjoyed all the aspects of this home! Comfortable king bed, full kitchen, cool spiral staircase, beach gear included, 2.5 blocks to a beautiful free beach, short walk to the free bus stops going north and south, and a heated pool. I booked through whimstay and the price we got could not be beat. We opted out of renting a car or golf cart and had no problem navigating around using the bus and 1 Uber ride up to bean point. We were in walking distance from the marina we went to for the sunset cruise. All in all we had a wonderful honeymoon and someone from the rental company was just a quick text away with any questions that I had. And the place was very clean when we got there. I could definitely see us returning back to this rental in the future because Holmes beach is now one of our favorite places.

"Part of me doesn’t want to give a review so I can keep this place hidden from others but that’s not fair to the owners. Wright Places checks all the boxes, clean, cozy, all the needs for a great vacation. Blocks from the beach for a quick walk to relax on the sand working the tan and enjoy the heated private pool where the afternoon sun continues to work the tan lines. Beach chairs are provided by owners so those that travel by plane still can enjoy joy all the perks as those who can travel with their own. You just need to pack your bags and show up. If available, this will be high on the list of places to stay

"We had a nice one week stay. Great location to walk to the beach. They provided a wagon and chairs to use, which was a nice perk. The amenities provided in the house were plentiful. Pool was nice and clean and temperature was perfect. Bed and furnishings could use some updating but overall very clean and comfortable!

Relaxing getaway at A Wright Place

We had a fantastic stay at *A Wright Place* on Anna Maria Island! The location couldn’t be better—just two short blocks to the beach, making it super easy to enjoy the ocean anytime.

The home was clean, beautifully updated, and smelled fresh when we arrived. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, utensils, and everything needed for cooking or grilling. The master bedroom bed was very soft and comfortable. Our adult kids found the twin beds a bit firm and wished they were XL length, but they’d be great for younger guests.

The saltwater pool and surrounding area were a highlight—peaceful, beautifully landscaped, with both sun and shade and lots of seating. It really felt like our own private oasis. The outdoor shower and privacy gate made coming back from the beach easy, and the laundry room was well-stocked with beach gear like chairs, toys, and even a volleyball.

There are a number of stairs, including a fun spiral staircase connecting the main level to the pool and laundry area, which worked well for us but might be a consideration for others.

The management company was friendly, responsive, and checked in throughout our stay. We’re already talking about planning our next visit!

So much good food, sunshine and family time!

Second Year at The Wright House

"This is our second year at this property. The location is great, a short walk to the beach, close to the public pickleball courts or a quick 10min bike ride to the grocery store. The pool is one of the biggest ones we've ever had and it has sun exposure for a good part of the day. The owners live in the unit beside but they gave us privacy but were quick to respond to our requests. Very kind people. Kitchen is well stocked, we used the barbecue most nights. The place is best suited for a group of 4 but there is a blow up mattress that could be used in a pinch. Highly recommend.

Family Vacation

"Our family group of six stayed for a week during March. We were drawn to the location near the beach and private pool. These amenities can't be beat and the pool area was spacious and private. The house was clean and updated from the photos, which was a nice surprise. The only disappointment was that the pull-out couch described in the lower den was actually a small leather futon. This was not large enough for my two children so we purchased an air mattress that worked ok for the short trip. There were plenty of beach chairs and toys which was awesome. Overall, our stay was a great value and we would definitely stay again.

Another wonderful trip to AMI

"We've rented many houses on AMI and this one had the best pool area. It was spacious, clean and very private. The unit itself was nice. We appreciated the updated kitchen and one updated bath (which isn't shown as updated on the website so it was a nice surprise.) The other bath definitely needs some attention. The bedrooms were a good size and it was nice to have large closets and plenty of hangers. The bureaus need to be replaced as they seem to be antiques and we were afraid to use them too much. The top drawer in the twin bedroom was unusable. We made good use of the nice beach chairs, wagon and pool floats. The washer and dryer are newer and came in handy so we could return home with clean clothes. There was definitely a musty odor in the lower level and was trying to be disguised with a strong air freshener. We met the owner once and she was nice. The rental company was very attentive. The cable stopped working on our first day there and the cable company came out within a few hours to replace the box and remote on a Sunday. We will definitely consider renting this house again. Overall we had a great spring vacation.

"Seamless check-in, good communication with rental company. This is a very clean home, stocked with an abundance of necessities throughout. We had no concerns, but felt that if we had any, that they would’ve been quickly addressed by the rental company and/or the owners Andy and Angie. Beautiful, clean pool and outdoor area. Winter vacation

"Peaceful, good location, nice pool, clean.
The spiral steps, were difficult going down to the laundry and pool area.
I would upgrade the mattresses in the twin bedroom. and I would also get more comfortable furniture for the living room. Overall, we had a very nice time the owners live next-door, same building. We had an event in the sink in the bathroom and they fixed it for us right away. And we loved the walk to the beach, that was our main attraction and our dog had a lovely stay as well. Anna Maria Island is a lovely place to visit and stay very peaceful and quiet and safe.

The Right Place

"We've been renting the Wright Place since at least 2002, even refer to it as "our" Florida-Home ;-)
Once we left passports and called the agency on our way to the airport. They came and brought our passports halfway to Tampa! I think that says it all. Best rental agency ever!

Pros:
*lots of pool/beach toys, wagon, beach chairs (this time we left 3 bodyboards for fellow guests)
*beach towels, hairdryer
*nice new well-equipped kitchen
*laundry area with new washer/dryer
*neighborhood quiet, residential
*short walk to beach
*owner on-site, super nice and helpful
Cons:
* saltwater pool (we liked the sweetwater much more)
* thick foam pad on the bed made it way to soft
* stairs to appartement and spiral stairs
* we rented Sat to Sat but on Friday the pool was cleaned and we couldn't use it til night

"The property description is accurate. The property was clean. The beds were comfortable. The couch felt like it had sand on it, which is understandable but I swept it with the sweeper and it still felt like sand. The pool is great. Walk to beach is about 3 minutes, 2 blocks, don't have to cross busy road. 3 beach chairs provided but one was broke. Only saw 4 beach towels in closet. Overall the place is nice and I would stay here again.

A Wright Place

"We had such a fantastic stay at A Wright Place. The owners live right next next door and were very polite and introduces themselves the day we checked it. The pool is nice and big and very private. The walk to the beach is under 5 minutes. We have stayed at several AMI properties and this was the cleanest by far. It is also very roomy. The den beside the pool is such a nice feature. The laundry room was nice and large. We would definitely stay again.

"16 stairs for accessibility to living area was challenging and spiral staiys to lower level could be unsafe for some. property/living area was clean and kitchen was well supplied. Towels were worn and not great quality..sheets were a little worn also. But overall we loved our stay and enjoyed the pool that was private and peaceful. We left an innertube to float in pool...pool toys need to be replaced.

Great pool, great location! Clean and quiet!

"We had a great stay! The pool is amazing, so private, beautiful and a great way to cool down after a day on the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed. We cooked (grilled out 3x!) most days and had plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Even Tupperware for leftovers! The updated kitchen is nice and I loved the flooring throughout. The beach chairs were really comfortable but the straps broke so they were a little awkward to carry but since it’s such a short walk it was easily manageable. The pool float was nice but it was broke also but again, not a big deal when you’re relaxing! The place was plenty enough space for my husband and 3 teenage boys. It was great having space for 2 cars parking. I love “old Florida” houses and this was a great value for the location and amenities.

"Great location only 2 blocks and a 5 min walk from the beach, with a wonderful salt water pool! We cooked quite a bit for ourselves, and had everything we needed (as far as utensils/cookware) in the kitchen. The property is an older property, but was very comfortable and close to all the Anna Maria hot spots. Great stay, friendly owners!

"The home was very peaceful and still. Did not know there was anyone next door. The homeowner was very pleasant and took care of any issues in a very short manor we will definitely stay here again
The pool was a nice value to our stay. After running all day we just stepped into the saltwater pool and relaxed

The Weight Place at Holmes Beach

"The private pool and surrounding garden are the real draw for this rental. There is a full flight of stairs to get to the apartment. This may be challenging for well as the interior spiral staircase to the laundry facilities and the pool area. The furniture and decor are old and outdated. There is a strong musty smell in the lower level probably due to the old couch and chair and ventless laundry room. I would not want to sleep downstairs on the queen size bed in the couch.
That all said, I am returning to the Wright Place again next season but for a shorter stay. Location, price, private pool, and friendliness of owners (who live in other half of house) are all positive aspects of this rental. Only wish the interior would be updated. Beds are comfortable. Linens have seen lots of wear.

"Hi There, Just wanted to expressed our gratitude for allowing us to rent this beautiful home. We had a great time. The pool was great, the rooms were the right size for us. The only thing we actually missed was a good dinning room. One word of advice; the furniture needs some updating. Thank you again we are looking forward to another experience in the future even if it's in the same house. May the Lord bless you!
