Step off the covered patio directly onto white sand — no stairs, no crossing parking areas, no hauling gear. Valhalla Downstairs is a ground-level Gulf-front unit in Holmes Beach where the September 2025 renovation left no surface untouched. Guests who returned after 8 consecutive years described the experience as unchanged in the ways that matter and transformed in every other way.

The remodel removed walls to create open sightlines from the bedrooms through the living room to the Gulf-facing windows — you can see the water from your bed. Modern LVP flooring throughout. Recessed LED lighting. Gray shaker kitchen with geometric floral backsplash, white quartz countertops, and stainless appliances including a dishwasher added specifically at guest request. Eat-in dining with Gulf views.

The covered patio has composite decking, exposed wood beams, yellow Adirondack chairs, a woven bistro dining set, and a charcoal grill. Morning dolphin shows from the patio. Spectacular sunsets. A full-size washer and dryer is now inside the unit in a dedicated laundry room with beach gear storage — another guest-requested upgrade that makes extended stays genuinely practical.

Two bedrooms sleep six. The primary has a king bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The living room gray sofa converts to a queen sleeper. One full bathroom with frameless glass shower and LED-lit mirror. Smart TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. High-speed WiFi. Central AC.

Publix, Walgreens, restaurants, and the free island trolley are all within walking distance.

One small pet is welcome with a $150 non-refundable fee. Direct beach access makes morning dog walks genuinely easy.

Valhalla Downstairs requires a one-week minimum stay with parking for two vehicles.

*Final payments are due 60 days prior to arrival payable by personal check or Echeck (which will incur a $1.00 processing fee) we do take
credit cards for final payment with a 3% fee on the balance due

You are vacationing in a residential area, please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their private property. Quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Perfect Bech Vacation

"This house is in the perfect location. Quiet beach and unobstructed views. It was great to be able to have our dog with us at this property. Even though dogs aren’t allowed on the beach itself, she loved relaxing and people watching on the deck. The house was very clean and the beds and living areas were very comfortable. There is a small plaza that is an easy walk that has great little restaurants and stores. My family also walked across the street to explore the small nature preserve. The property management company was very friendly and they were quick to respond to any questions I had. I hope to stay at this location again in the future and highly recommend it to others. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Beachfront Getaway

"We had an awesome week here. The location and view were unbelievable — you step right off the covered patio onto the beach, which made every day super relaxing.

The place was very clean, modern, and well taken care of. Appliances and amenities were all really nice, and everything felt easy and comfortable. Island Vacation Properties did a great job with the setup.

This was our first time on Anna Maria Island, and this spot made it a great experience. We’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a true beachfront stay.

"This rental was just so perfect for one couple. Beautifully updated, fantastic to walk out the door to the beach, nice big shower, cordless vacuum so easy to keep the unit clean during our two week stay. Walking distance to Publix, Walgreens, and many other stores and restaurants. Bike rentals nearby. I hope we are lucky enough to return next year. Sometimes you don’t know exactly what you want until you find your perfect vacation spot. Hosts were incredibly responsive to questions.

"Location was wonderful. The unit was very clean and the management was great to work with. The owners need to get new mattress. The current ones are very saggy. Hard to sleep on. Be aware that you will hear the upstairs neighbors. Very noisy the whole time we were there.

"Great location. Very nice being in the downstairs. It was so nice just to walk right out on the sand. There is a little noise from footsteps upstairs but that was expected. The bed we used was really comfortable. Plenty of towels for the beach and shower. We have taken this trip 8 years in a row now , stayed in some more modern places but this is perfect for a couple . The location makes it . You still have perfect views of the sunsets from the downstairs patio. Would rent again if it was just the 2 of us. Only one bathroom and no dishwasher were the only things that kept me from giving 5* rating.

Right on the beach!

"The apartment was roomier than the photos would suggest. A large deck with a table and chairs was a plus as we lived out there. The beds were comfortable. However, you can hear the footsteps of children upstairs, but not the adults! The pull-out couch was not "new" as described. The mattress was old with the dreaded "bar" that prevents a comfortable sleep. Thin mattress egg crates were provided for this inferior pullout mattress Sheets, but no blankets were provided for the pullout. My sister ended up just sleeping on the couch because the pullout mattress was just too awful. The kitchen was updated with granite counters and a new sink and faucet. The updated shower bathroom was large with plenty of hot water. The App the company wanted us to download was useless for any communication with them. They must be phoned with any issues. The week before we arrived we were given a code for the keyless doors but at least the App stated that real keys were required, so I had to contact the company to clarify. In phone conversations, the staff was always courteous and helpful. Because of the location, we would consider renting again Valhalla downstairs.

Location, Location, Location!

"This is the place for beautiful sunsets and being right on the beach. I would give the location 5 stars. The bathroom is updated and very nice but the location of the bathroom is not great. There is a walk from the bedrooms through the kitchen and den to get to the bathroom. There are a few cons that you might be okay with. This is a downstairs unit, and you can hear every footstep from the people above. The sofas are worn & do not look clean but are sufficient. Kitchen lacks a dishwasher which isn't bad with 2 people. There is a K-Cup coffee maker in the unit which was not on the description. The shared washer and dryer are located on the side of the property. We had a maintenance issue which was handled quickly.
This property is within walking distance of Publix and Walgreens and other shops and restaurants which is a plus.
If you love being right on the beach, this may outweigh the cons. I would recommend to anyone whose most important factor is the proximity to the beach.

"Just love the location. Everything we need is within walking distance. Short walk to the water.Love to porch.One step off the porch and your on the beautiful white sandy beach. The furniture is substantial. I like the bathroom and the shower is nice and roomy. I would recommend this property to anyone I know. All the restaurants had good food. I always rent bicycles. Good way to get around the Island. Or rent a golf cart. You don't want to miss all the things the Island has to offer. I love the IVP staff. They are all very helpful. The kitchen is nice, but can use a little updates.

"Have stayed many times with IVP. The management team are always amazing and responsive. As others have indicated in previous reviews, the location of this rental is absolutely perfect. The cleanliness of the rental left much to be desired - the attention to detail of the interior doors with grime on them - red liquid, etc just was not what we are accustomed to with IVP properties. Additionally, as discussed in other reviews - the carpet in the bedrooms needs updating badly. The condo provided exactly what you need (no dishwasher) to cook and enjoy a wonderful stay.

"All the other reviews seemed accurate, except the condition of the carpet in the two bedrooms. Old. Stale, Dirty do not describe it accurately. My wife refused to even walk on it. We went to the Dollar Store and bought shower curtains to cover the carpet. Cut them up and taped them down. They really need to replace that carpet. Ask if they have before you book....
Again, other reviews describe it accurately in our view. Enjoyed the location, plenty of space for parking, appeared to be a safe location. Left our bedroom window open each night and traffic was NOT an issue.

2 week winter escape

"Rental experience was great! When we arrived at 4:00, we used our code and started moving in and enjoyed the great and beautiful weather. It was great to be able to walk to the shops and restaurants. The house needs some updating. The carpet in the bedrooms is very worn out and nasty. There wasn't enough silverware in the kitchen, and the couches don't have any padding left. Kitchen knives were very dull.
Will come back and stay for sure, if updated.

Great Vacation....Great Location

"We have been coming to Anna Maria Island for over 30 years and this was one of the best vacations. The property was great! We had quite the dolphin show each morning while drinking coffee on each porch. (upper and lower) Property management did a fantastic job! We usually have a property with a pool but we didn't miss the pool since we could step off the porch and be on the beach. All groceries and shopping are within a very short walk as well as the trolley. We will be back and I highly recommend Valhalla Downstairs and Upstairs.

"Came down to AMI at the beginning of the pandemic things were looking mighty grim However thanks to Sara at Island Vacation Properties my potential nightmare became my dream vacation. After a minor mixup and through no fault of her own Sara did everything in her power to insure that our vacation on our 50th anniversary was perfect. From this point forward I will always rent through IVP. Our place Valhalla was immaculate with brand new spreads sheets and pillows the place was clean with a beautiful view of the beach. Even though the beaches closed to the public, having our rental on the beach allowed us to have the entire beach to ourselves. Thank You again Sara for the perfect vacation

Broken promises

"I was promised in February of 2019 that my broken couches would be replaced. By the end of March that had not happened. Arrived end of Jan 2020 and had dirtier and more broken down furniture than the year before. Hard to describe how uncomfortable and un- sitable this furnituree is. Untenable considering I was paying for 2 months.

Also one should know that when you have people upstairs, their conversations and music out on the deck might as well be in your living room. I tried to cope with this using the apple ear pods but they didn't help much.

"The view and proximity to beach are perfect. The house is in need of a little work. The carpet is the bedrooms is old and just dirty looking. The kitchen could be a little better equipped. There is no dishwasher and the washer and dryer are accessed outside. If you have people renting the upstairs, you will hear them very easily. being close to the city beach, there were more people that just wandered and parked themselves at the private beach area. Although no alcohol is permitted, we saw a couple intoxicated individuals. The one bathroom had been updated and was very nice. Again, walking right out to the beach is awesome but being a duplex was noisy and the house needed some work.
