One block from the Gulf in Holmes Beach — a very short walk to the beach, and guests who find SS Salamander North tend to come back year after year. Some for multiple years running.

The backyard is the centerpiece. A heated pool shared with the south unit sits within lush tropical landscaping. The fire pit table and gas grill are poolside for evenings that don't end when the beach day does. An outdoor shower handles the post-beach rinse. The front has a large upper deck for those beautiful sunsets. Covered parking has two spaces per unit.

Two bedrooms sleep five. The primary bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a full bed and a twin bed — a practical configuration for a parent and child or two guests comfortable sharing the space. The living room has a 55" smart TV with streaming. The kitchen is fully stocked for home-cooked meals. Shared full-size washer and dryer on the property.

Local bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques, and the free AMI trolley are all within easy walking distance.

SS Salamander North requires a one-week minimum stay. No pets.

*Final payments are due 60 days prior to arrival payable by personal check or Echeck (which will incur a $1.00 processing fee) we do take
credit cards for final payment with a 3% fee on the balance due

You are vacationing in a residential area, please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their private property. Quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Great beach house

"The house ideal for us it was very well eqipded throughout every piece of equipent you would need in the kitchen outside had it all, great pool and poolside furniture,BBQ fire pit,pool towels. Laudry equipment along with beach cart chairs inflatables all for your use to take to the beach which is about 50 yards.

"We’ve been coming to AMI for 4 years and tried different areas and rentals…this is our absolute favorite one yet. We rented both sides with another family and it could not have been more perfect. The location is so close to the beach, no crossing busy roads, just a short walk. The back yard is amazing! Your own private oasis with a beautiful heated pool, plenty of seating and shade. The interior of the units are beautifully decorated. Beds are comfortable, we all slept great! Kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Front porch was lovely for morning coffee. Close to shops, restaurants and Publix. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for everything!!

Relaxing Beach & Pool Vacation

"We had such a great time during our stay on AMI. The property was a little closer to the beach than we had expected and although it is one of the older properties in the neighborhood, the location was just right for our plans to relax and head to the beach or relax by the pool. Admittedly, I was excited that no one had booked the other side of the duplex up until 2 days before our trip, however, the people that booked next door were lovely and so kind to our family during the few short times we saw them near the pool or coming/going from the home. We liked the comfort of the sectional in the living room, as opposed to some rentals we had viewed with chairs that didn't appear to look comfortable from pictures. It was a perfect size for our family of 4 and had plenty of seating between the kitchen, dining room area, and front porch. A recommendation to anyone who enjoys having coffee in the morning on the front porch that it may be helpful to bring the cushions in at night as we had thunderstorms each night so the cushions were soaked by morning, which we figured out after the first few days. We did not cook full meals but the kitchen seemed to have a lot of what you would need, if you did. Although the AC worked and kept the house at a comfortable temperature most of the time, it was very warm the first night in the master bedroom. It was in the 90's most of the week (FL in June), so to be expected that it may be hard for the unit to keep up with it but we would have preferred it to be a little cooler. The pool was one of the better/larger pools on the island that we had found and the backyard had plenty of space. There were warm breezes most of the trip so the bugs were not bad except for maybe 1-2 days during our entire trip when it was less breezy. All in all it was a great trip and we are looking forward to making it back to AMI next year. Thank you!

"Great rental and our favorite location. It is close to the beach and convenient to the public beach and shopping. The back yard and pool are wonderful. They are shared with the conjoined house. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and was very clean. It is an older home that has mostly been redone, except for the main bath, which really needs to be. The management company was great to work with.

Incredible Location, Comfy House, Great Pool. Needs Some Updates

"I'll make this one easy for you:

1) you'll be about a 30 second walk to the beach entrance.
2) the 2-bedroom house will sleep 4 wonderfully. I wouldn't want more than that.
3) the balcony was a joy in the mornings and evenings.
4) the pool (and in fact the whole back yard) is not done justice by the photos. It was great.
5) The kitchen was ready to search for things, and be a little underwhelmed by what you find (not strange for a rental, but still). Little things like a comically bad toaster seem small...unless you need a toaster. The ice maker was a champion though.
6) The laundry room is shared with your neighbor...may not be a big deal for you, but worth noting.
7) The beach gear provided is pretty janky...bring your own if you can.
8) Unless you're intending to spend a lot of time in the north side of the island, I don't think a golf cart rental is needed. The location is really good - close to bars, shops, ice cream, etc.

...and that's really it. If you have two families of four...I highly recommend renting both duplexes.

A Terrific Vacation Experience!

"We really love Salamander. It is beautifully located, has a beautiful pool, and is managed very well by Island Vacation Properties. We have been coming for 7 years and enjoy it greatly. Only two glitches. Living room furniture needs upgraded. It is not equal to rest of the place. And WIFI is not strong in unit. Minor problems, but would be nice.

"We enjoyed our week at SS Salamander North. The location is the best you can get and not actually be beachfront. Just a short walk to the beach access. Our first day on the beach was Memorial Day and the area around this beach access was not crowded. We could see that farther south at Manatee Beach, it was quite crowded. The house was great for us. The highlight is the beautiful backyard and pool. There seating and a grill on separate sides of the pool for each unit. The grill is gas, not charcoal. There is also a fire pit table, which we didn’t use bc it was too hot. The pool is really nice. We also enjoyed the deck off the living room and sat out there every morning. We are our meals on the deck or by the pool depending on which area was shaded. It was nice to have the laundry access and use of beach chairs, etc. We brought out bikes along and we locked them in the laundry at night. Sharing the pool area with the neighbors could be a little weird. Our neighbors did not use the pool while we were there. We did see them out on the deck sometimes . There are little lights strung around the deck, but they are plugged in inside the other unit, so we could not turn them on. The beds are very firm. We did not care for them and the sheets are rough and uncomfortable. No extra blankets (just the comforter) so bring your own. Also, not enough washcloths provided for a week stay. I managed to find 8, which we used in one day as we all showered twice. This meant that I did a load of laundry every night so we would have clean washcloths for the next day. The bathroom window needs a curtain. We hung up paper towels fastened by bandaids! 😄 The place is fairly small but had a nice kitchen, dining room table and plenty of seating area in living room.

Close to beach and beautiful pool

"This house is located about a 3 min. walk away from the beautiful beach. The pool and backyard are beautiful and well maintained and there are plenty of pool toys, beach chairs, etc. The kitchen is well equipped. My only complaints are the matresses are cheap, hard and very uncomfortable and the sheets are like sandpaper. The twin beds in the second bedroom didn't even have head boards. They really need to update the beds in this rental. The tub in the bathroom hardly drained and we ended up having to plunge it twice. The bathroom window was also missing a curtain and the neighbors could see right in at night from their crows nest. A few simple changes would take this rental from good to great.

Amazing location

Paradise Found!

"Beautiful heated pool, close to beach, decorated nicely and the lanai was wonderful. Kitchen supplied with excellent cookware etc. Beds comfortable, nice linens....needs some screens repaired and minor other things. Over all wonderful experience! Best was the pool and Beach!
