The northern end of the island is the historic City of Anna Maria. Comprised of mostly residential homes, Anna Maria is the oldest city on the island.
There are some wonderful commercial areas in Anna Maria featuring charming restaurants and quaint shops. A must to explore!
Two fishing piers are located in Anna Maria; The Anna Maria City Pier and the Rod and Reel Pier. Both are great spots if you are into fishing! You can also stop by the Bayfront Park at the base of the Anna Maria City Pier for a different type of bay front beach area.
While exploring Anna Maria don’t forget to stop by the Historical Society on Pine Avenue and read about the rich history of the island. It’s right next door to the jail which is something you won’t want to miss.
Don’t forget the Anna Maria Free Trolley. It’s a wonderful way to explore any of the areas on Anna Maria!
