How do I make a reservation?
Once you’ve decided on a property you can reserve it yourself online on our secure website or contact us by either email or phone to secure your unit. After you have signed your E-Contract you will receive an invitation to download our mobile app. This is where you will get all of your check in and unit specific information. This is also where you can access some great local deals.
What type of deposit is required?
We require a $500.00 deposit by credit card on weekly reservations. There is a $1000.00 deposit required for reservations of over 28 days. Some higher end properties require a higher deposit amount. All payments are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Travel insurance is available and strongly recommended but it is not mandatory. This deposit amount is applied toward your final rental balance which is due sixty days prior to occupancy. We do not accept credit card payments for the final balance but a personal check is fine.
What does the travel insurance cover?
Travel insurance protects you in case you have to cancel your reservation due to illness, death in the family, jury duty, weather related delays, etc. It is not mandatory but it is highly recommended. This policy also covers you in the event you have to depart earlier than expected due to any of the above reasons.

What time is check in?
Check in time is at 4 PM. We make every effort to ensure that your unit is ready when you arrive but on extremely busy check out days, a slight delay may occur.
Can we check in early?
Call of office a few days prior to your arrival. If your unit is ready you may check in early. If we have other guests checking out the day or your arrival we do need adequate time to prepare the property for your stay and an early check in may not be possible. We do not charge for early arrivals and will accommodate you if possible.
Where do I get my keys?
Come to Island Vacation Properties to retrieve your keys. If you arrive after normal business hours your keys will be in the Welcome Box by the front door to our office in an envelope with your name on it. Please note that keys will not be left out for you unless your reservation has been paid in full.
How can I get directions to our unit?
Directions from our office to your rental unit are available from the mobile app as well as the property address.
What should I bring with me?
Each of our properties provides all bed and bath linens required for your stay. Each kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, and basic essentials. Coffee pots, toasters, irons and microwaves are provided in all units. Paper products and cleaning supplies are not provided.
What time is check out?
Check out time is 10 AM. During our busiest times of the year we do need to adhere to this in order to have time to prepare for incoming guests. If you have a late flight please contact our office. We do not charge for late check outs and we will certainly try to accommodate if scheduling permits.
What is required when we check out?
Normal cleaning is provided on the day you check out. We ask that before you check out all dishes be cleaned and put away and all trash be bagged and put in the outside receptacles. Please turn the air conditioning up to 85 degrees to order to save electricity. Any unit keys that you were given at check in must be returned to Island Vacation Properties at check out. Of course, before departing be sure that all doors and windows are locked.
Are there any units that allow smoking?
None of our rental properties allow smoking indoors. We ask that you please smoke outdoors and responsibly discard any smoking debris. There are some properties that do not allow any type of nicotine use anywhere on the property.
What is the pet policy?
We do have many pet friendly units that are indicated on our website as such. We allow one pet less than 25 pounds with a $150.00 non-refundable pet fee. Rare units will allow multiple pets or larger pets. It is important to note that local ordinances prohibit pets on our beaches. Pet owners will be ticketed and fined if pets are taken on the beach.
Is telephone and internet service provided?
All of our rental properties provide telephones for your convenience. Local calls are free of course. The majority of our properties now provide free domestic long distance calling. You can check our website or call our office to see if this service is provided in the property that you’ve rented.Most units now provide free Wifi. The network name and password are printed on your confirmation and your key check in envelopes. If you have any questions you can also contact our office.
What if we have an after hours emergency?
Should you have a serious medical or life threatening emergency please dial 911.
If you have a rental emergency after our office is closed, call 778-1000 x 112. We have an agent on call 24 hours a day. Please note that this is for emergencies only. Any non-emergency issues will be dealt with on the next business day.
What if I lock myself out?
If you lock yourself out call the emergency number above. After hours lockouts are subject to a $25.00 service fee to be paid immediately and directly to the agent who retrieves your keys for you.
How can I reserve my rental property for next year?
Island Vacation Properties reserves properties on a “first come, first serve” basis. We cannot offer the right of first refusal. We do take reservations up to two years in advance. If you want to reserve a property for future years please contact us and we will be glad to assist.
